A group of ASSIST-CARD collaborators visited the Âncora project in Cotia, Sao Paulo. The children were really thankful for the books we donated to increase the library of the institution. Besides, our team had the opportunity of helping decorate the Christmas tree, be present at the rehearsal for the end-of-year performance and take part in a circus class for the little ones.

The purpose of the Âncora project is to remove children from the streets by means of cultural and sports activities. They also help adults and retired people with professional and art courses and also a choir, among other activities.

For 2008 ASSIST-CARD Brazil is planning to organize monthly visits to the institution thus strengthening our purpose: take care of people.

On October 1st, the 2008 “More Than Houses” DINNER organized by HABITAT FOR HUMANITY ARGENTINA was held. Habitat is a non-profit organization engaged in the development of permanent solutions for families living in poor conditions.

The dinner took place at the Marriot Plaza Hotel for the purpose of raising funds to continue their work. ASSIST-CARD participated in the event through its Help & Care Program. As part of a series of games held during dinner, two ASSIST-CARD cards were raffled off.

The winner turned out to be Fernando Carnota, a well-known journalist from “Todo Noticias” who during his next trip will be able to enjoy all the assurance and support which only ASSIST-CARD can provide.

The 6º “San Isidro-Tigre” Tour took place on September 27th. This race was held in aid of “Fundación Nosotros”, devoted to provide a family environment to intellectually handicapped people.

This was quite a special race, as competitors did not care about getting to the finish line but about helping and collaborating with the noble cause of the foundation. ASSIST-CARD was present at the event, among other 40 competitors and sponsors who made it possible, standing for its Help & Care Program.
